Our Story

I witnessed my beautiful, selfless mother run herself to complete exhaustion—raising children, caring for her aging mother, saying yes to everything—until she had nothing left. Her health declined because she prioritized everyone else's needs except her own.

Sleep, Pray, Love—isn’t a spa. It’s a quiet rebellion.  My mom burned out like a wick left burning too long. Never said no. Never asked for help. Everyone else came first— When I went off to college, she didn’t know what to do with the silence. No kids to nourish.  She loved giving but had forgotten to give back to herself and nourish her spirit, her body, her heart.  Her body just… gave up. Heart, joints, sleep—everything started failing because she’d never fed herself.  I watched her fade.

I saw myself repeating this pattern and saw my friends hitting midlife burnt out and struggling.  I learned that this is the time when health can dramatically decline, marriages go flat, children leave and so does significant purpose- suicide is highest in women in their 50’s and 60’s.

I’ve seen the ambulances at the retreats where I lived and worked. Women showing up hollow-eyed, desperate. I’ve called 911 more than once. They weren’t weak—they were starving. Soul-starved. Dream-starved. Boundary-starved.

This inspired me to create a sabbatical where women in midlife would have an affordable space and environment to focus on their highest good.

I dreamed of a safe haven for renewal in community with privacy, where burnout could end and return to authentic joy would be rebuilt through rest, faith and rediscovering authentic purpose.

Here, we can relax our nervous systems, tap into true needs and desires, spark our creativity, and head home feeling refreshed and already embracing new restorative rituals to create a life we love.
